Fibre optic transmission offers the advantages of wide bandwidth, immunity to EMI/RFI interference and secure data transmission. ADAM-4542+ can be used as an RS-232/422/485 point-to-point or point-to-multipoint link to transmit and convert full/half duplex signals and their equivalents within a fibre optic environment. Fibre optic cables are the perfect solution for applications where the transmission medium must be protected from electrical exposure, lightning and atmosphere. ADAM-4542+ is specifically designed to connect various machines equipped with an RS-232/422/485 communication interface (e.g. computer systems or manufacturing machines). Using standard SC type fibre optic connectors, the module's fibre optic connectors can accommodate a wide range of fibre optic cable sizes, including 62.5/125, 250/125, 100/140 mm.
